Hello. It’s Joyce. You’ll be hearing from me mostly since my better half isn’t really much for words and he defers to me on everything anyway. Ha.
First off..I want to apologize. I really tried to register the domain name www.geoyce.com, but was too late. Apparently, someone else out there wanted the same domain name and jumped on it before I did as soon as our eweddings website expired. So, for those of you who bookmarked our site, our new URL is: www.geoyce.wordpress.com. Doesn’t quite have that same ring to it, but ah well, you snooze you lose.
Second, I have been a real slacker about posting up the rest of our honeymoon pictures. So I’ll be sure to do that as soon as I get home. Rather than upload them one by one, I’ll just provide the link to our ofoto site so you can peruse them at your leisure. I think there’s a slideshow feature on this blog, so I’ll have to play around with it and see if there’s an even easier way for you guys to see the pictures.
Anyhow…
Can you believe it’s already been more than THREE MONTHS since our wedding day?????? I certainly can’t. One minute, we were off on our honeymoon, then ‘POOF!’ It’s three months later and I’m sitting here wondering where all the time went.
Here’s a recap of what we’ve been up to since our wedding:
I switched jobs. Yup. I no longer work at USC. Me, Ms. Trojan-for-life, found life outside the walls of USC. This new opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time. It really was time for me to move on. Being on campus was great, but it never really felt like I graduated from college. Plus, the commute to SC from home was really starting to kill me slowly. Shortly after we returned from the honeymoon, I was offered an editor job at Kaiser Permanente. The office is located right in Old Town Pasadena!! My commute went from 1+ hour one way to 15 minutes door-to-door. Plus, I get to carpool with my sister occasionally and have lunch with her almost everyday, since her law firm is right around the corner from my office building. So far, it’s been a little over a month since I started here, and I can honestly say for the first time EVER, that I’m happy with my job.
Our new life as a married couple is great. It really is. We’ve really started to get into the groove of things and have finally settled into our new life together. Sometimes, I’ll look at him and wonder to myself if all of this is real. Are we REALLY married?? Do we REALLY live together now?? Do we really introduce eachother to other people as my husband/wife?? Yes.
I had a birthday. I’m officially ‘not young’ anymore. But shockingly, I’m ok with that. Now that my 20s have been over for a couple of years, I can look back and honestly say that I didn’t really enjoy it to its fullest. There was so much more I could have done, but didn’t. I’m looking forward to my 30s now. And I have a strong feeling that this is going to be my best decade ever.
I think that’s about it.
For you-our friends, family, random lurkers-this probably isn’t going to be updated daily. But I will try my best to keep it up-to-date of our happenings. So check back often. You never know, you may find yourself on one of our posts. Heh.
