September 2007

As promised, here is the family portrait we took during Eric’s wedding reception last month…

Next week, Kaiser Permanente (heretofore shall be known as simply KP) is having a three-day ‘offsite’ meeting at the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey. Basically, we’re going to get together with people from Oakland (KP headquarters) and talk about how great and wonderful we all are. Attendance is mandatory and leaving early is NOT ALLOWED…at least that’s what I was told.

It’s kind of cool. We get to stay at a nice hotel, have our own rooms paid for, and be able to invite our spouses or significant others to come stay with us and enjoy the facilities.

Apparently, this event happens once a year and not always in L.A. For me, it’s a nice change. I’ve never worked for a company like KP. At USC, no one ever traveled anywhere and whenever there was a mandatory event that all staff had to attend, it was always on campus somewhere. Sure, we got fed, but the food they feed to staff and faculty is maybe a step up from dorm food.

So yeah, I miss being on campus…especially now that the football season is underway…but I definitely could get used to the perks of working for a huge corporation like KP. Don’t get me wrong though, with the perks comes the not so ‘perky’ side, but that’s a topic for another post.

I’m suffering from a terrible case of writer’s block. Although, it’s not like I have anything real exciting to write about. Ever since I realized that we have readers I don’t know reading our blog, I’ve felt this tremendous amount of pressure to make our blog interesting and cool! Hahaha…which explains the lack of posts. 🙂

Few things to note…

Happy Belated Birthday CHING! (9/14)

USC KILLED Nebraska!

The weather’s finally cooling down, which makes me VERY happy.

Anyway, just wanted you all to know that we’re still here! And I shall leave you with the picture of the week:

This is what happens when a bruin disrespects another team’s mascot!

was a good day. 🙂

Two things.

First, I want to point all of you to my good friend Dr. Crump’s blog. No, that’s not his real name, but since he’s going by this pseudonym, that’s what I’ll refer to him as, too. Yes, he’s a REAL doctor and, quite possibly, is the smartest person I know. So check out his blog. It could save your life. Yes, really.

Second, I learned something new today…actually…I learned several new things today. Did you know that Asian people have DRY earwax and Non-Asians have WET earwax?? And did you know that WET earwax is the same trait that’s connected to BODY ODOR?! Talk about things that make you go HMMMMMMMMMMM….

This is my cousin Jack. Isn’t he cute?! 🙂

It was hot.
